Maya Cinemas to Open 16-Screen Complex at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino

Maya Cinemas of North America will open a 16-screen deluxe movie theatre in the fall of 2015 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio.

The theatre will include 70,000 square-feet of movie-going amenities.

This Maya location will be a large part of the existing Fantasy Springs Resort Casino (pictured at right), which includes a world-class casino, five-star hotel and 18-hole championship golf course, as well as a Special Events Center and parking.

The cinema is in addition to a 130,000 square-foot retail destination to be included at the resort.

The theatre will feature:

  • Dolby Atmos Sound, the revolutionary sound system which will be the first in the county.
  • An MPX large format 72-feet wide screen, the largest in the San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial counties.
  • 4-D Digital projection systems on all 16 screens.
  • Ergonomically designed extreme plush leather, super-wide recliner and rocker seating.
  • Energy-efficient, advanced technologies for power.

Maya Cinemas, founded in 2001, has three other California theaters in Pittsburg, Bakersfield, and Salinas.
