Modernism Week will host its Fall Preview over the Columbus Day holiday weekend, Oct. 9-12, in the Greater Palm Springs area, and tickets go on sale Aug. 1.
Highlights during the four-day schedule include a festive opening night Preview Reception at the Modernism Show & Sale – Fall Edition, in its new location at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Modernism Week and its community partners will also host tours of Sunnylands; exclusive tours of the Frank Sinatra house; a Palm Springs neighborhood home tour; the Palm Springs Art Museum's "Meet the A+D Center – The Rat Pack Experience" party; architectural walking tours; Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tours, including a special edition hosted by Charles Phoenix; a cocktail reception in support of Albert Frey’s Aluminaire House, as well as tours of Frey House II; the popular “Lost, Saved and Endangered” lecture and tour among a packed schedule.
The Modernism Show & Sale at the Palm Springs Air Museum will feature 40 premier national and international dealers offering furniture, decorative and fine arts representing all design movements of the 20th century, and introducing 21st century items. The show will open with an Early Buying Preview Reception to benefit Modernism Week at 6 p.m. Oct. 9. Weekend show hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 10 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11.

Participation in events and tours helps support the mission of Modernism Week, a 501 (c)(3) organization. Local participating organizations include Palm Springs Preservation Foundation; Palm Springs Art Museum’s Architecture and Design Council and the Architecture and Design Center, Edwards Harris Pavilion; Palm Springs Historical Society; Palm Springs Modern Committee; PS One; Sunnylands; and others. The City of Palm Springs is the Presenting Sponsor of Modernism Week.
Modernism Week’s signature 11-day festival will take place February 11-21, 2016. The schedule and tickets will be available at noon Nov. 1 (PDT).
