Actor Michael Madsen's poetry reading at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs highlights Day 3 of the AMFM Fest.

The event marks Madsen's return to the desert after he once owned a house in the Thunderbird Heights development in Rancho Mirage in the late 1990s. He will read from 7-9 p.m. in the hotel's Amigo Room, 701 E. Palm Canyon Drive.

Terraplane Sun, with its new release "Ya Never Know", close out the musical lineup with a midnight showing. The bands preceding them include Blasting Echo (8 p.m.), The Lost and Found (9 p.m.), Pssstols (10 p.m.), and Tramps in Stereo (11 p.m.). There is a wine and beer garden hosted by the Tilted Kilt.

The rest of the schedule includes:

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Industry "insider" panels featuring studio executives, producers, directors, music supervisors and members of the entertainment industry. The panels meet on the third floor of the Cathedral City Council Chambers, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero.

Noon to 5 p.m.: The Curve Palm Springs, 333 E. Palm Canyon Drive, hosts the off-site pool party featuring DJ sets.

2- 7 p.m.: VIP artist lounge featuring DJ and acoustic sets from top artists from Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley. Limited open bar and food service for special guests at the Mary Pickford Theater, 36850 Pickfair St., in Cathedral City, second floor mezzanine.

All day: Art exhibits at Incredible Artist, 35688 Cathedral Canyon Drive, featuring work from Craig Semetko, Kimberly Zsebe, Scott Christopher, Gordy Grundy, Chris Redman and more.

All day: Pet adoptions with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter at the Pickfair Promenade in Cathedral City.
