AMFM Fest Lists Today's Opening Day Schedule

Opening night gala showcases photography of actor Viggo Mortensen and others

The AMFM Festival cranks up today (June 13) with a full slate of films, followed by tonight's Opening Gala and a cool indoor kart racing including actors Michael Madsen and Billy Wirth.

The Ace Hotel and Bar in Palm Springs are the designated after party hangouts.

Here is the full schedule:

4- 5 p.m. - Benefit Concert for the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City with a performance by the Van's Warped tour favorites Miracle Dolls. The Dolls will be donating their guitars to the Club.

5- 8 p.m. - VIP Opening Night Gala featuring live music, limited open bar and food as well as a gallery showcasing the photography work of Viggo Mortensen, Robert Zuckerman, Craig Semetko, Dan Eldon and many more.

9 p.m.to midnight - Celebrity Indoor Kart Racing at Xceleration with live music from The Pharmacy (DJ Pedro Bass and the Medic), food and drinks provided by Paradiso and the likes of Michael Madsen from Reservoir Dogs, Billy Wirth from The Lost Boys, Peter Shinkoda from Falling Skies, Deep Roy from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and many more.

A screening of the Newport Beach Film Festival favorite, The Golden Scallop, Slamdance Favorites Battery Man and Joy de V, and a charity fundraiser screening of films by the children of the Boys and Girls Club and Cathedral City High School lead the opening film schedule at the Mary Pickford Theater, 36850 Pickfair St., in Cathedral City.
