With a new café and some fresh ideas for fun in the desert sun, the Curve Palm Springs Hotel is kicking off the official “first weekend of summer” with a festive pool party.
Celebrating the hotel’s casual atmosphere for a desert escape, DJ Jae Rawkwell and the team at Curve (333 E. Palm Canyon Drive) will host the event from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday (June 22).
According to Curves’ General Manager Jennifer Masten, “It’s hot in the desert, but there are still so many fun things to do and ways to keep cool. The summer kick off party is our way to show people how to still enjoy the desert heat. There will be music, food, drinks, silly games and a lot of giveaways that are all geared toward having a great time while visiting the desert in the summer.”
Chef Michael McCollough has prepared the perfect summer barbeque, and his menu is sure to please the most elevated palette with his own take on home-style picnic fare. Guests will enjoy an assortment of hamburgers, hotdogs, sirloin kabobs, vegie kabobs, fresh fruit kabobs, and cold shrimp and pasta salads served between noon and 2 p.m. poolside for $12.50 per person.
In addition, Curve bartenders, Sage, Buddy and Yanette, will create refreshing hourly drink specials. For every drink and/or meal purchased, guests will receive tickets for prize giveaways. Prizes include local attraction tickets, iPad/iPod/iPhone, docking radio and a two-night stay in the hotels suite.
Guests can also play Palm Springs trivia or join a small scavenger hunt on the property for additional summer themed surprises. Winners will be announced at the end of the main event at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Cover charge will be $10 for the non-hotel guests and complimentary for those staying at the Curve. Hotel guests can continue the fun with specials and beat the heat incentives throughout the weekend.
