Fashion Week El Paseo™ To Present a Week of Glamour and Runway Thrills

Fashion Week El Paseo™ (March 16-24, 2012)

Palm Springs Life has announced an exciting schedule of Fashion Week El Paseo™ events and highlights for the seventh annual glam fest on March 16-24, 2012.

Fashion Week El Paseo™ presents the best of West Coast design and is the premier consumer-driven fashion experience showcasing the newest collections by top designers, as well as fresh cutting-edge style by emerging designers.

The schedule includes a week of spectacular runway shows, glamorous trunk shows, nightly parties and numerous in-store events at the adjacent shopping district of El Paseo. The week features numerous highlights including:

Friday, March 16 & Saturday, March 17 – Le Chien: A Celebration of Dogs & Fashion
The event is a two-day celebration that includes a cocktail reception, a doggie style grooming, and a runway show of canine couture featuring 19 adorable canines who will strut the runway.

March 16 - Cocktail reception at a fabulous private residence: 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m

March 17 - Doggy Beauty Bash: 9:30 a.m.

March 17 - Kibbles & Champagne: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (for ticket purchasers)  


March 17 - Le Chien: A Celebration of Dogs and Fashion Show: 1:00 p.m.
Both events benefit the Humane Society of the Desert and the ASID Palm Springs/Inland Valley Scholarship Fund.

March 17 – Bachelor Auction 6:30 p.m. - Benefiting Shelter from the Storm

Sunday, March 18 – Style & Beauty Bash 10:30 a.m.– 2:30 p.m.
More than 25 salons will provide hair styling and makeup consultations to kick off a week of glamour.  Benefiting local charities.

Sunday, March 18 – Saks Fifth Avenue Spring 2012 Collection – Reception 7 p.m. Runway Show 8 p.m
Saks 5th Avenue will present a runway show of fabulous couture from top designers’ newest Spring 2012 collections.

Monday, March 19 – El Paseo Runway – Reception 6:30 p.m., Runway Show 8 p.m.
A high-energy evening of sophisticated style will be presented by more than 15 stores from El Paseo, the Palm Springs Valley’s most fashionable shopping district.  Benefiting the Girlfriend Factor.

Tuesday, March 20 – Featured Designer Lloyd Klein – Reception 7 p.m., Show at 8 p.m.
The Parisian Los Angeles-based designer will debut his “LKLA” and “LKBH” collections of contemporary sportswear and present his evening couture. Trunk show March 21, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Benefiting The Living Desert and Desert AIDS Project.

Wednesday, March 21 – The Stars of Project Runway – Reception 7 p.m., Show at 8 p.m.
This thrilling event features eight Project Runway winners and all-stars, some of which appear in the current season of the wildly popular TV show Project Runway All Stars. Many of these TV personalities will participate in a trunk show the following evening.  Trunk show March 22, 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 22 – FIDM Debut 2012 – Reception 7 p.m., Runway Show at 8 p.m.
This runway show features the next generation of emerging designers from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Benefiting Junior League Palm Springs Desert Communities.

Friday, March 23, -- Featured Designer Anthony Franco – Reception 6 p.m., Show at 8 p.m.
This talented designer, who has dressed Angelina Joie and Cameron Diaz, will present his new men and womens wear collection for Spring 2012. Benefiting Desert Outreach Foundation.

Saturday, March 24 – Mark Zunino, Designer of the Week – Reception 7 p.m., Show at 8 p.m.
Fashion Week El Paseo™ concludes with a dazzling runway show by couturier Mark Zunino who will present a spectacular collection of evening wear that evokes timeless Hollywood glamour.
