Fort Lauderdale earns No. 1 slot from "Miss Travel" website survey
The annual White Party was likely a contributing factor in Palm Springs being chosen the No. 2 'Gaycation' city for college students.

Palm Springs is the No. 2 destination behind Fort Lauderdale by gay college students gearing up for upcoming spring breaks, according to a survey by MissTravel.com, a dating destination website.
The website surveyed approximately 15,400 users who identified themselves as gay college students, and 622 indicated they would be coming to Palm Springs compared to 902 headed to Fort Lauderdale. Key West (Fla.) ranked third with 569 planned trips, according to the Huffington Post.
The White Party, Dinah Shore and Blatino Oasis annually draw gay college students to Palm Springs.
MissTravel.com is an online dating website for travelers. The website matches what it calls "Generous travelers" who hate to travel alone with "Attractive travelers" who seek the chance to travel the world for free.
