Q: What about the items that are already in my closet?

A: Work through your wardrobe and pull anything that you love to wear — and that is very special.

Here’s the short list:

• Great black pants (full leg and tapered — if tapered, be sure they’re not too long – ankle bone length or a bit shorter works).

• Dressy tops.

• Jackets that are special (not work attire, and see the trend hint below).

• A great denim jacket.

• Your very best fitting black dress.

• Favorite accessories.

• Fabulous shoes – metallic, glitter, and satins in bright colors would be perfect.

TREND HINT:  A pair of great-fitting jeans (no rips, please); a sharp, white shirt; and a great blazer are more exciting with fantastic dressy pumps. Wear a small, but blingy, clutch and some tailored jewelry and you have the look of the season. Or be ahead of the trend and wear a great brooch on your lapel.
