The Andaz, an affiliate of the Hyatt brand, is planning a 2016 opening in Palm Springs, with a 150-room luxury lifestyle hotel adjacent to the Uptown Design District.

“The City of Palm Springs is absolutely thrilled the Hyatt Hotels Corporation will bring the Andaz brand to downtown Palm Springs,” said Mayor Steve Pougnet. “The Andaz wonderfully suits our city’s ultra-cool style and is a perfect complement to the new Kimpton Hotel breaking ground. Thanks to millions of dollars invested over the past five years in hotel renovations, incentive programs and branding, Palm Springs is experiencing a historic renaissance as one of the hippest, most happening resort destinations in the country and we look forward to breaking ground on the Andaz Palm Springs in April or May of this year.”

The hotel will house a collection of small buildings and bungalows surrounding two outdoor pools, spa and fitness facilities, an elevated poolside retreat and terrace bar, and signature restaurant with lounge, all with panoramic views of the San Jacinto mountains. The ground level will contain 25,000 square feet of boutique retail space, with indoor/outdoor meeting facilities adding to the intimate feel and mirroring the charm found in this city.

Collaborations with local artists, musicians, and designers will help to create events ranging from talks to exhibitions to performances through the distinctive Andaz Salon, the brand’s signature cultural program. Features include interactive, on-property and virtual events conceived to support and nurture each hotel’s community of emerging talent.
