Chooses smaller venues to connect with audience

Marie Osmond has recently embarked on a new journey sharing her personal stories through music through a one-woman show, An Intimate Evening With Marie Osmond, My Life Through Music.

“The key words are ‘an intimate evening’,” she says. “I chose smaller venues because I want to connect with everyone in the audience. I’m one of those blessed females, unique in the entertainment industry that has been able to work for five decades. This is my way to say thank you to my fans over the years. This is not a Vegas show – that’s ‘let me entertainment you.’ This is more ‘get to know me’.”

Marie Osmond’s first introduction to the public came with The Osmond Brothers, and then more specifically brother Donny when they combined on their own television variety show, Donny & Marie.

They continue to work together today on their award winning Las Vegas show, but this solo tour by Marie, which makes a stop April 4 at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino, is designed to take her audience on a journey. She sings a variety of songs showcasing her range in country, opera, and pop, plus a duet with her nephew, David Osmond.

“I wanted to create a show combining my passions and put together stories and music about my life,” she says. “I like making people laugh, cry, send a message of hope. I like people to connect. It’s been fun for me because the comments (I’ve heard) are ‘we laughed, we cried, we felt things about our own life.’ It’s what I hoped it would be for the audience. It’s talking and music, singing, and heart.”

Marie is also a renowned motivational speaker, philanthropist, and matriarch of a very large family. Her down-to-earth personality not only resonates with fans, but has made her a role model for many women.

“God doesn’t care who we are,” she says. “He just cares how we do it. We are all women, and we are all getting through this thing called life. Lets do it all together.”

She has also been recording a new album as yet untitled that shares these same sentiments.

“Music is powerful and healing, and every song on this album has been chosen and talks to us as women now,” Marie says. “It is our life and we need to love ourselves enough to see it that way, and to say life is beautiful through the ups and downs.”
