A Salute to the Troops
7th Annual USO-style Show, a great way to say thank you
Whether or not you’re old enough to remember delightfully entertaining USO shows, if you’re a fan of great dancing and engaging banter you’ll want to catch A Salute to the Troops at Sun City Palm Desert May 28-30.
Produced by the General Patton Museum and the Coachella Valley High School Visual and Performing Arts Academy, the 7th annual USO style show is written and directed by Bob Reinhagen, with choreography by Rob Reinhagen and music direction by Wayne Abravanel.
These outstanding professionals join students in what has become one of the hottest tickets in town. A Salute to the Troops is a musical travelogue staged with full production values. The cast includes outstanding professional guest artists and students along with professional dancers from companies such as Atlanta Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, American Repertory Ballet, Boston Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
According to organizers, this show featuring songs and dance from our past and present is their way to say “thank you” to veterans, active duty armed forces, police, fire and all who put themselves in harm’s way.
A Salute to the Troops takes place at Sun City Palm Desert’s Clubhouse Ballroom on Friday, May 28 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 29, at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 30 at 2:30 p.m. in the Clubhouse Ballroom.
