Lauded for its top-notch tennis facilities and spectacular setting, La Quinta Resort & Club was recently named a “Gold Medal Resort” by Tennis Resorts Online, a respected interactive travel resource, in its eleventh annual ranking of the world’s top tennis resorts and camps.
The resort earned a number four slot in the “Best Setting Category,” and was ranked number eight on a list of the “Top 25 Tennis Resorts”. Since it was founded in 1978, the Tennis Club at La Quinta Resort has attracted a veritable Who's Who of celebrities and pros. The property has stepped up its tennis program since bringing in Gorman two years ago. He works with a staff of three full-time USPTA-certified pros. Also named one of the country’s “Top Tennis Resorts” by Tennis Magazine, the property is known for its state-of-the-art tennis facilities – including 23 courts, among them 18 hard, five Har-Tru and a tournament-style central “Clubhouse Court;” outstanding instruction; and a fully stocked tennis pro shop. In addition to the facilities at La Quinta Resort, Gorman oversees the instruction and operations for the 19 courts at nearby PGA WEST; which includes four grass courts, two Har-Tru courts and 13 hard courts.
