BURT BUXBAUM

Giraffes may seem very quiet, but they can emit sound waves that travel through solid objects. By using infrasound, which is too low for human ears to hear, they can communicate over vast expanses. Discover more about these majestic creatures at The Living Desert. This month, the preserve hosts its annual Mother’s Day breakfast (May 9) — a perfect day for parents and their children to share the wonders of nature.

Next month’s Father’s Day breakfast (June 20) begins with a visit to the giraffe barn, where guests will feed the park’s reticulated giraffes.
