Rafael Nadal's victory in March at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells has rubbed off on the La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA WEST.

In naming the resort this month the No. 1 tennis resort in the United States, Luxury Travel Magazine picked up on Nadal's affinity for the desert hideaway.

“The term ‘lap of luxury’ immediately comes to mind when one thinks of the La Quinta Resort & Club," the magazine wrote. "Recent accolades came from none other than Rafael Nadal…Nadal raved about the facilities along with the pristine atmosphere of this desert oasis, which transports you to a wonderful sense of tranquility.”

La Quinta Resort was once the home for the BNP Paribas Open before moving to the Tennis Garden in Indian Wells.

In addition, Tennis Resorts Online ranked La Quinta Resort Tennis Club at No. 2 among its Top 100 rankings for tennis resorts and camps. Broken down by category, the resort was ranked No. 1 for Best Tennis Staff and No. 5 for Best Game Matching.

The online publication noted, “Its Clubhouse Court is hands-down the most beautiful court at a resort anywhere, and the later addition of a spa next door and a courtside fitness center only seemed to add to the allure. At 23 courts—18 hard and 5 Har-Tru—it remains one of the larger resort complexes in the desert. The setting is magnificent, the rooms exceptionally comfortable, the cuisine excellent.”

Tom Gorman (pictured right), La Quinta Resort director of tennis ands a former Davis Cup team captain and international champion, celebrated the award news with his staff.

“I’m thrilled to hear of both these recognitions and I share them with our entire team, who work very hard at providing first-class service for our tennis guests at La Quinta Resort & Club. Our goal is to ensure that every guest leaves the court with the strongest desire to come back…and to tell all their friends,” said Gorman.

Coinciding with its two national tennis awards, La Quinta Resort has also announced a three-day weekend tennis camp, June 21-23 featuring nine hours of court time. Priced at $310 for resort guests or $429 for non-resort guests, the fee includes the camp, court time, coaching by Gorman and his staff, a welcome reception, Saturday night group dinner at Adobe Grill, one continental breakfast and a commemorative T-shirt.

To reserve a spot, call (760) 564-7655. Guests wishing to stay at the resort during camp dates and qualify for the resort-guest enrollment fee can use promo code PTNCMP when forwarded to reservations after finalizing their camp participation.
