ART
Travis Hiner Exhibition

The Palm Desert Community Gallery presents a pair of installations by the artist, including a photo print series six years in the making, and a series of wall reliefs through Jan. 31, 2014.

New Addition to Palm Canyon Drive
Russian-born artist Elena Bulatova will officially open her Palm Canyon Drive location with a ribbon-cutting Nov. 21 with Palm Springs Mayor Steve Poughnet in attendance. Check out an interview we did with Elena last spring.

Griefography
Melissa Morgan’s Fine Art Gallery in Palm Desert will host a reception Nov. 21 to showcase works of art by Coachella Valley children dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Food for Thought
Coda Gallery’s new show will leave you hungry for more, literally, by featuring food art by a host of artists led by Utah’s David Dornan that runs through the month. Watch our VIDEO of Dornan showing off one of his paint tube creations.

“JFK Remembered, 50 Years Later”

Meet producer/director Robert Kline after the 3 p.m. Nov. 21 screening at Cinemas Palme d’Or in Palm Desert. Where were you 50 years ago when JFK was assassinated?

“Nebraska”
Meet actor Bob Odenkirk (pictured at right), who will take questions after the screening at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at Cinemas Palme d’Or in Palm Desert. The film has drawn rave reviews for star Bruce Dern, who was named winner of the Career Achievement Award by the Palm Springs International Film Festival this week.

Short Term 12
Brie Larson will speak after the 4 p.m. screening Nov. 24 at Cinemas Palme d’Or in Palm Desert. The film focuses on a caring supervisor at a home for at-risk kids. Larson has been nominated for Best Actress by The Gotham Awards.

CLASSIC STORY & CARS
Kojak Lives

Keith McCormick struck up a conversation with the late actor, Telly Savalas, who encouraged the Palm Springs businessman to start his own car auction. That was nearly 30 years ago. Read our profile of one of the top car events in the country, which runs Nov. 22-24 at the Spa Casino parking lot.
