On Thanksgiving Day 1952, Palm Springs Tennis Club members and their guests were astonished to see the club transformed into a glittering French picture.
The popular club was filled to capacity as members joined together to enjoy the holiday.
The French theme in decoration was the idea of Mrs. Austin G. McManus, founder of the club. Muriel Bering was the clever interior decorator who carried out the elaborate theme to its smallest detail.
Managing director and club owner, Sam Taylor was on hand to make sure that the festivities were as grand as those who were in attendance.
There is a multitude of ways to learn more about Palm Springs, which turned 75 in 2013.
