3rd Annual Farm to Table Celebration fundraiser on Sunday, November 15
The Desert Cities chapter of Slow Food USA will present its 3rd Annual Farm to Table Celebration fundraiser on Sunday, November 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. on the Event Lawn at Jackalope Ranch.
The gathering will include tasty dishes prepared by more than a dozen local chefs based on produce from local farmers, as well as a silent auction and music. Proceeds will support the chapter's Slow Food in Schools program which creates gardens on school grounds for students to learn how to grow their own fruits and vegetables.
Slow Food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating. It is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the world that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment. It supports good (created with care from healthy plants and animals), clean (as good for the planet as it is for our bodies), and fair (accessible to all and produced by people who are treated with dignity) food.
