Palm Springs Hiking Trails - Visit the Indian Canyons trading post and pick up a hiking trail map for Palm, Andreas, and Murray canyons.

Centuries ago, Native Americans lived off the land in canyons at the southwest corner of what later became Palm Springs. The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians maintains hiking trails where their ancestors gathered plants and seeds for food, medicine, and basket weaving. Visit the Indian Canyons trading post and pick up a map for Palm, Andreas, and Murray canyons. Then go in search of rock art and metates (hollows in rock used to prepare food) left by early Cahuilla Indians, picnic near a stream, watch for wildlife, and simply enjoy the natural surroundings. To reach the canyons, travel south on Palm Canyon Drive until you reach the tollbooth. (760) 323-6018
