Riviera Resort & Spa – the revitalized Palm Springs hot spot that once hosted Hollywood icons such as Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. – has unveiled a three-month series of mid-century-themed events, promotions and packages in celebration of its 50-year anniversary, paying tribute to the resort’s colorful past and Hollywood legacy.
Available now through December 31, 2009, the 50th Anniversary Extravaganza comes on the heels of Riviera’s ambitious $70 million renovation – in which owner/operator Noble House Hotels & Resorts incorporated a host of modern amenities and stunning interior design – completed late last year. This legendary landmark originally opened to much fanfare in 1959, and during its 1960s heyday, was billed “Palm Springs’ largest and most famous resort.”
Retro-Themed Promotions and Packages
1959 Package – One-night accommodations; a Palm Springs Celebrity Home Tour for two; and memorabilia from 1959, including Frank Sinatra’s “Come Dance with Me” CD (he won his first Grammy for this album in 1959, also the first year of the Grammy Awards); a “Some Like it Hot” (1959) DVD; and a copy of James Michener’s Hawaii (published in ‘59, the same year Hawaii became a state). Package starts at $129 per night (excluding tax and gratuities).
