Fall Fashion Trends: Black is Back at Saks Fifth Avenue

Fashion Show promotes Women Leaders Forum

Black is back.

Leather is big.

Pants will be available in a variety of styles and texture.

These are just some of the trends Susan Stein passed on to members of the Women Leaders Forum (WLF) during its Fashion Show Sept. 23 at Saks Fifth Avenue at El Paseo Gardens in Palm Desert.

Stein, fashion editor of Palm Springs Life and the director of Fashion Week El Paseo in March, went on a three-day shopping spree of Saks to prepare a rack of clothing options to share with the audience in addition to showcasing three outfits worn by model Amanda Fields.

After a colorful spring in outfits, Stein says fashion designers brought back black, and black and white combinations for the fall. However, when moving back to color, Stein says the choice this year is red.

Ten percent of each clothing purchase at the event was donated to WLF to support college scholarships for members enrolled in its Young Women Leaders Mentoring Program.
