Strut Your Stuff
Arenas Road will be closed off between Indian Canyon Road and Calle Encilia to make room for the 12th annual Bent Productions Halloween Costume Contest. Entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m. and the costume contest at 8. Last year chairs were put out for people to sit on, but they ran out, so you might want to bring your own.
Dressed Up & Some Place To Go
Tropicale in Palm Springs slates its sixth annual Halloween Masquerade Party with all the trimmings from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
The Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs has created more than just a pool area - it's a party destination. Halloween will mean multiple DJ's spinning, a live band and live show by the pool, food stations and bars starting at 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. 21 and over only.
Cooking with Class breaks out the Bat Wings, Sticky Bones and Bloody Soup for Halloween in La Quinta. It's really just a guise for some amazing food cooked up by Chef Kathleen Kirk.
Idyllwild Haunted Ghost Town
Open through Halloween, visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of a old ghost town. Watch our VIDEO previewing one of the stops.
This 3-day horror film festival, Nov. 1-2 at Camelot Theatres, features a full lineup of films, panels and a cocktail party. The films begging at 8 p.m. Nov. 1 followed by four Nov. 2. Panel discussions will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 1 and 10 a.m. Nov. 2, and the cocktail party wraps the festival at 10 p.m. Nov. 2 at Integrated Wealth Management's offices in Palm Desert. The installation focuses on Diebenkorn's Berkeley Years, 1953-1966, and runs through Feb. 16, 2014. He is considered one of the state's best 20th century artists.
Show and Tell
Archangel Gallery in Palm Springs hosts artist Cynthia King, who will conduct a demo of her ink on clapboard work from 2-4 p.m. Her installment, "California Dreaming" is showing at Koffi in Rancho Mirage through Dec. 1.
Free First Fridays
The Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert combines live music, performance art and film screenings all in one event every Friday from 4-8 p.m. Free admission into the museum. Part of an effort with El Paseo Art Walk and the City of Palm Desert.
