La Quinta Arts Festival

Support for the arts is deeply entrenched in the oasis. From regular events such as Art Under the Umbrellas and the Desert Arts Festival to El Paseo Art Walk, beauty is in abundance.

The Coachella Valley hosts several big festivals, kicking off Nov. 10-11 with Rancho Mirage Art Affaire (www.ranchomirageartaffaire.com). This free event offers juried fine art, live jazz, food, wine, and beer. For kids, The Rad Hatter will present children’s recycled art activities.

From March 7-10, La Quinta Arts Festival (www.lqaf.com) takes over the city’s 13-acre Civic Center Campus. Enjoy art, live entertainment, restaurant row, and wine bar.

Indian Wells Arts Festival (www.indianwellsartsfestival.com) transforms Indian Wells Tennis Garden into an outdoor cultural celebration April 5-7, featuring artwork, entertainment, and gourmet food.

Check out Southwest Arts Festival (www.indiochamber.org/southwest-arts-festival) in Indio, Jan. 25-27, featuring several genres of art, live entertainment, refreshments, a kids’ corner, and more.
