Indio Performing Arts Center, or IPAC, thrills with its inventive productions of theater’s most celebrated playwrights. In 2005, the theater underwent extensive remodeling, which added stadium seating, big screens for contemporary performances like cabarets and musical theater, dressing rooms, and stage repair. IPAC keeps the desert communities firmly entrenched in wildly imaginative productions, including Leading Theatres of Europe (dates and times TBA).

Palm Canyon Drive becomes Palm Springs’ most hip destination for performance. Palm Canyon Theatre has staged a short list of Broadway and off-Broadway gems including Sunset Boulevard, Legally Blonde, and Hairspray. See new and old favorites during the 2013-2014 season, then peruse Uptown Design District.
