Essential Information
Where Real Living BeginsHave you heard of Indian Ridge Country Club? Probably. It’s one of the desert’s premier country club communities. You’ve probably heard that it has a great location in Palm Desert, close to Interstate 10 and the Palm Springs International Airport. You have probably heard about the two fantastic Arnold Palmer Signature golf courses. Perhaps you’ve heard about the club’s outstanding tennis facilities and program or the terrific fitness center and full-service day spa. You may be familiar with the club’s two restaurants and the outstanding food or the never-ending social calendar. You may know that Indian Ridge is an equity club and one of the few completely member-owned, member-operated country clubs in the valley. If you dug a little deeper, you probably learned that Indian Ridge is fully developed, established and financially stable — and that means no surprises. You might also be aware that the club is surrounded by a gated community of approximately 1,000 homes, with a wide variety of sizes and prices. Homes range from 1,500 to 4,500 square feet. Every home is on the golf course and enjoys a fabulous view. But it’s what you may not know about Indian Ridge that’s even more important. Because once you enter the gates, you’ll discover a lifestyle that you’d never imagine existed. IMAGINE THIS…You awake in your beautiful desert home. Stepping onto your patio with a fresh cup of coffee, you take in views of a gorgeous, manicured golf course framed by snow-capped mountains in the distance. The day ahead is yours to enjoy. And what choices you have! Pull your custom golf cart from your garage and drive to the golf course. Before your tee time, take a short-game clinic from one of the IRCC pros. Then play 18 holes on the lush Grove course or the desert-inspired Arroyo course, and stay for lunch with your foursome at the Arroyo Grille or outdoors on the Palmer Patio. Later, head to the dog park with your pooch — dogs love golf carts — for “Yappy Hour.” Meet your friends while your doggie meets his! Or play a morning of tennis — singles or doubles — at one of the desert’s top tennis facilities, enjoy a healthy lunch outside at JK’s Café and spend the rest of the afternoon at the club’s full-service day spa. Begin with a sauna, steam, or cold plunge in the locker room. Follow with a fabulous facial or a memorable massage, and finish with a haircut and blow dry or a manicure/ pedicure. In the evening, join friends in the Ridge Room at the clubhouse for dinner. It’s Maine Lobster Night! Maybe you prefer to begin your day with a bike ride to JK’s Café for a Starbucks latte and breakfast with friends. Or perhaps you and your neighbor opt for a four-mile walk through the community. Or visit the pool complex and swim laps in the multilane lap pool. Before your book club meeting, try a Zumba class. Or take a private golf lesson from one of our full crew of golf professionals in the morning, and spend the afternoon in the Kramer Room playing a sanctioned game of duplicate bridge. Is it Friday late afternoon? You’ll want to head up to the Palmer Patio for the Sunset Social. The sun is setting behind the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains, casting a golden glow on the valley below. You’ll love the view from the patio, overlooking lush fairways and shimmering lakes. Enjoy a cocktail and complimentary hors d’oeuvres while you compare notes on your golf game with friends, meet new members, and make plans for the coming week. Savor a burger from the bar menu on the Patio — or choose the Ridge Room for a full dinner of steak, sea bass or one of Chef Ralph’s other specialties. NEED MORE TO DO?
All of this is yours without ever leaving the community. But the most pleasant surprise about Indian Ridge might just be the people. We have a diverse, multiethnic membership. Our members and staff are friendly, welcoming and eager to include new members. Friendships are easily formed. And though Indian Ridge is an upscale club, our members are fun — and not at all stuffy! Here, you’ll find people like yourself: successful, busy and interesting. Some members are newly retired professionals — including doctors, lawyers, bankers, corporate executives and business owners. Some are still working and come to their desert home for weekend getaways and vacations. They look forward to the day when they can spend more time. Some work from their homes. Some live in the desert full-time, and some are snowbirds. Most members enjoy being physically active and leading a healthy lifestyle. No one at Indian Ridge is bored — there are way too many things to do and so many people to enjoy them with! When considering purchasing a home in a country club community, many people don’t realize the importance of buying a home in a community with a member-owned club. Most clubs in the valley are owned by a corporation, an investor group or a developer. Corporations and investment groups are generally motivated to make a profit and provide a return on investment to their shareholders. Developers typically provide services significantly below cost in the interest of selling homes. But eventually, as homes are sold, the club is sold either to members or an outside investor. When that happens, dues often increase while services decrease. Indian Ridge went through turnover eight years ago. We are completely member-owned and operated. We continue to provide first-class service, while retaining our financial stability. As a not-for-profit organization, we use our funds to provide services for members. Our goal each year is to break even. We control our own destiny. Decisions made by the club board are in the best interests of our members and only the members. At a time when many clubs are deferring maintenance, we are using capital funds to enhance our facilities for our members’ enjoyment. Member-owned also means that our members understand that cultivating new members is key to the club’s success. We’ve created a culture of being welcoming to new members, and we enthusiastically include them in our community. Our flexible membership programs are designed to meet the needs of prospective members. And while we’re among the desert’s top-tier clubs, we believe that our membership offers real value.
