Annual Women Leaders Forum Leadership Conference - Oct. 22, 2009
Event emphasizes goal success through positive thinking

Women Leaders Forum sponsored its annual WLF Leadership Conference at the Miramonte Resort & Spa in Indian Wells on Oct. 22. More than 200 attended the conference and luncheon. The theme for the day was “Leading With Optimism – Looking Forward.” The opening session featured Dr. William K. Larkin whose subject was “Growing The Positive Mind” followed by Mary Marcdante, “Living With Enthusiasm.”
Special awards were presented during the luncheon. Recipients were Jane Treacy, Col. Pat M. Webb, USAF, and the Community Spirit Award received by Palm Springs Life magazine and presented by Mary T. Roche, founder of WLF and former Indian Wells Mayor. Roxanna Gonzalez-Jimenez from Marywood-Palm Valley School received the College Bound Scholarship.
A panel discussion followed luncheon, “Leading from the Heart with Grace and Courage.” On the panel were WLF members Jasenka Sabonovic, Christy Majors, and Reese Manning. Patti Gribow, former WLF president, was moderator.
The afternoon session featured Mimi Donaldson, “Power Up! Empowering Women To Succeed,” Laura Parsekian and Molly Stroud, “The Kind Campaign,” and Katie Finn Coleman “Wine Confidence & Success.” Christy Majors is president of WLF and co-chairs of the conference were Cathy O’Connell, Margot Nelligan, and Jan Maguire.
