Palm Springs Modern Committee Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The Palm Springs Modern Committee celebrated its 10th anniversary at the annual Preservation Awards Luncheon held at the Riviera Hotel. Peter Moruzzi, president, welcomed guests and spoke of the successful efforts by the committee to preserve historical sites in Palm Springs during the past decade. Award recipients were Daniel Giles, Architectural Restoration Award for his loving restoration of the Donald Wexler residence; Dr. Will Grimm received the Architectural Rehabilitation Award for bringing Dr. Daniel Kaplan’s former office back to its original design; Lance O’Donnell, received the Award for Excellence in New Modern Design from Mayor Steve Pougnet; Robert Imber received the Preservationist of the Year Award, and the Commercial Architectural Restoration Award was given to Ocotillo Lodge and accepted by officers of the Ocotillo Lodge Home Owners Association. Thanked for making the restoration possible were Chris Menrad and the hotel’s original designer William Krisel.
