Luckily for diners who crave USDA Prime steaks and top-drawer service, there are several LG’s Steakhouses from which to choose. Owners Leon (LG) and Gail Greenberg preside over every detail to ensure that quality and service exceed expectations. That’s what makes them proud local owners with a well-earned national reputation. While the same outstanding menu is served at all the locations, the ambiance of each restaurant is a unique experience that deserves its own journey. Much of that has to do with its three distinctive desert destinations. LG’s Palm Springs is a place to see and be seen on lively Palm Canyon Drive in the heart of downtown. LG himself is immortalized with a star on the Walk of Stars. Patrons can choose to dine inside or on the climate-controlled patio with big screen TV and bar. The patio is also ideal for private parties. In Palm Desert, LG’s holds court on Highway 111 in a stately southwest-inspired location built in 1948 that was originally the headquarters of Desert Magazine. The third jewel in the crown is the distinctive La Quinta restaurant that commands the corner of Highway 111 and Washington Street. Inside, diners marvel over the retractable roof that opens to the desert sky, and star sightings of the celebrity kind on a regular basis. Even Joe, the handsome waiter seen in TV commercials, has his own cult following! LG’s boasts one of the largest wine lists in the valley with an impressive 525 selections. The restaurant has received Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence for seven years in a row. And then there’s the food. Under the keen eye of Executive Chef Maura (Moe) Tello, LG’s continues to be acclaimed by AAA Diamond Preferred, Palm Springs Life’s Reader’s Choice 2006, Tom Horan’s Top Ten List, and the Zagat Survey’s rating of “Best Steak In Town.” Every steak is 100% USDA Prime, hand-trimmed, never frozen, and aged to perfection. LG and Gail invite you to come on down and have some dinner. Dinner is served nightly from 5 p.m. in Palm Springs and 5:30 p.m. in Palm Desert and La Quinta. Reservations are recommended. |
SHOWN ABOVE: Two of the great specialties served at LG’s — LG’s Ultimate Dining Combination, the best of ranch and sea, Filet Mignon and Australian Lobster Tail; a dramatic Tomato and Goat Cheese Salad, yellow and red tomatoes and goat cheese served with low-fat Italian dressing. The suggested wine is Kenwood Artist Series, Sonoma, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2001. “LG’s Prime Steakhouses are a permanent part of the desert landscape and a popular attraction.” |
