Purple Room restaurant and stage at the Club Trinidad Resort is a fun, friendly place where locals and visitors love to hang out. Built in 1960, the still popular Purple Room is considered one of Palm Springs’ original “Rat Pack hangouts,” where Frank Sinatra brought his friends to eat, drink, and play.
Savvy restaurateurs Tony Marchese and Mark Van Lanaan, owners of the popular Trio Restaurant, have brought back the classy ’60s style to the modern-day Purple Room Restaurant and Stage with outstanding American food, great libations, live entertainment, and a variety of dinner shows.
Under a vintage sparkle ceiling and crystal chandelier, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, sultry purple curtains, and huge photos of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Dean Martin, the Purple Room sets the stage for quality live entertainment six nights a week. Fans find a vivid mix of blues, rock, pop, soul, and jazz, and wildly entertaining nightclub acts like The Judy Show, Dame Edna, and The Gand Band.
Unlike venues that offer a limited choice prix fixe menu, the Purple Room provides a complete dinner menu, crafted cocktails, and a full wine list for dinner and drink selections during all shows.
Chef Van Lanaan’s versatile menu ranges from creative salads and small plates for sharing to more than a dozen delectable “mains” such as the USDA Filet, Bone-in Rib-Eye, St. Louis Style Ribs, Shrimp Scampi, and Fresh Salmon.
Open Tuesday through Sunday from 3 to 11 p.m., and to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday with a late night menu, happy hour is from 3 to 7 p.m. daily in the bar with $3 well drinks and half price bar bites.
