ABOUT THE COVER: Hollywood designer George Barris whipped up this little number for Bob Hope's fairway meandering during the 1970 Bob Hope Desert Classic. Admiring the custom-built cart, which includes instant video tape replay unit, is '70 Classic Queen Barbara Eden. This year's Classic will be played Feb. 10-14 over Bermuda Dunes, Tamarisk, Indian Wells and La Quinta courses. (See pages 39 through 69; also 75, 189.) Photography by Gerhard Julius.
