Horoscope - January 2010

Face Fears During Radical Changes

2010 ushers in the rare and serious Saturn Pluto square, a couple of Saturn Uranus squares, and eventually Uranus and Pluto will square off. This series of alignments is unprecedented. For most of us, this will mean adjusting to radical changes caused by forces larger than ourselves. And for many of us, the changes will come from within. We face fear of restriction and loss (Saturn), fear of change in individual rights (Uranus), and fear of political agenda and global chaos (Pluto). In this time of great upheaval, don’t be afraid. Set precedents. For a personal reading, e-mail me at sherrylnova@aim.com.

CAPRICORN  (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Feeling extra dark this month? Sure, the last few months have been unrelentingly tedious, but the goat thrives on challenge. For all your grumbling, you can see a distant light. Do not be seduced by childlike responses in intimates, nor tolerate nonsense because of some deep desire that makes you feel guilty. Be comforted by your own uncommon sense, and be stoic.

AQUARIUS  (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Not high cycle for relationships. Anything is possible. Each has their own aspirations, and few can coexist. Though you long for stability, pride and rivalries create uncertainty and a little name-calling, (under your breath, of course). Let there be spaces in your togetherness to allow for reunion on another plane. Feisty Mars meddles in your partnerships till June. Know the difference between self-awareness and ego to save time.

PISCES  (Feb. 19-March 20)
Your immune system demands quiet and clean air. For about four months, you are vulnerable. With awareness and a restructured schedule, you can stay strong. You will realize a major coup if you let some frail associates fail. The win is that you no longer have to prop them up, which is draining you. Seek quality over quantity and you will strengthen health and outlook. Be unavailable to air suckers. An empty cup cannot quench. Heal.

ARIES  (March 21-April 19)
Leadership attempts seem thwarted, but it’s just not quite time. There will be a few more unexpected changes before a clear plan appears. What it looks like now is nothing like the finished product, and impatience must be curbed. Action for its own sake has such a small percentage of success. It is not the time to act but to backtrack and restructure relationships, agreements, and basic administration parameters. Be still and listen.

TAURUS  (April 20-May 20)

Gift yourself with serious decluttering. A designated space in the domestic environment should be streamlined to accommodate new responsibilities. You are capable, but coming from chaos is dimming your light in the world. By late spring, a new level of competence will lead to a financial bonus. You don’t need alchemy or a winning ticket. Incredible growth will be the result of simple order. Get your ducks in a row.

GEMINI  (May 21-June 20)
There’s a lot of running around and trips to nearby destinations. You will be more effective a day’s drive away than on a longer trip. Happy reunions with siblings or neighbors bring a new richness to your social life. Involvement in community projects will create friendships with a simpatico group. You will shine where your knowledge is acknowledged and appreciated. Study or special courses can provide a wider vista of promise.

CANCER  (June 21-July 22)
Serious associations have powered up, and your best investments now are in good times and entertainment. Potential allies need to see that you can be lighthearted and fun to balance your serious agenda. In every campaign, there is a time to stop and appreciate the process. Do it now. They need to see the lighter side. Remember, joy is an effective motivator. Rally the troops.

LEO  (July 23-Aug. 22)
Mars will confront your ego needs until late spring, and there will be lots of swan songs, Waterloos, and “aha!” moments. No one can inspire like the lion who comes from love. Be aware of whom you adore, and make no promises until mid-March. Everybody has a personal agenda that must be discerned before blending forces. Be gracious, but take everything under advisement and get back to them only when you are sure.

VIRGO  (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Is the spirit willing but the flesh weak? Because you see nothing but work for long periods of time, you have depleted your spiritual reserves and have no idea how to create the proper rest and relaxation. The next five months demand that you take time off — enough time to replenish your spirit. It will all be there when you return. So go. Now.

LIBRA  (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
There’s too much going on! The social calendar will be double-booked for a while. There’s no way you can cover it all, but you can survive and thrive. Be very selective in those RSVPs. Two easy qualifiers: Are you treated like royalty by appreciative others? Are you able to hobnob with royalty and appreciate their patronage? Then do it.

SCORPIO  (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

An all-or-nothing attitude will free you from a drain on your time. The eagle has a keen sense of ego and its ramifications. You will benefit from extreme egotists who take up your cause and apply royal pressure to obstacles. If you bet on the wrong horse, however, you will have to contend with a crash-and-burn situation caused by hubris. Choose wisely and appreciate the qualities of strong self-worth and self-awareness.

SAGITTARIUS  (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Popularity can be heady, and they all want their private moments with you. A great cheerleader for the honest efforts of others, you are wooed for your ebullient energy. Don’t fall prey to the unexamined lives who want your attention but have not done the homework. You are more than usually annoyed by claptrap. Seek quiet moments with brilliant contributors, and give them your undivided attention. You will learn something big.
