Art for all tastes (and price points) prevails this month, as galleries from Palm Springs to Indian Wells open exhibitions featuring paintings, sculptures, limited-edition lithographs and screenprints, and works that blur the lines of these media.

Royale Projects (75270 Highway 111, Indian Wells) presents multiples by John Baldessari, the 78-year-old international art star known for reappropriating photographs (particularly movie stills), altering and rearranging elements, and adding brightly colored cutout geometric shapes to create collages and, ultimately, new meanings.

Imago Galleries (45450 Highway 74, Palm Desert) opens a retrospective exhibition of works by the late sculptor Robert Graham, as well as an installation of dynamic early wood constructions by Los Angeles painter Charles Arnoldi.

Eleonore Austerer Gallery (73160 El Paseo, Palm Desert) begins the year with an exhibition of works on paper, including graphics, by Henry Moore and Alexander Calder.

Heather James Fine Art (45188 Portola Ave., Palm Desert) augments its blue-chip offerings with a group show featuring Thomas Bangsted, Tony de los Reyes, Aaron Morse, Arthur Ou, Yinka Shonibare, Alexander Gorliski, Michelle Segre, James Siena, and Daniel Zeller.

J. Willott Gallery
