Rancho Mirage-based author Pamela Price and Laura Kath of Los Alamos have published Day Trips From Los Angeles (Globe Pequot Press), a guide that includes Coachella Valley cities. The first Los Angeles edition in Globe Pequot Press’ Day Trips series offers planning advice and tips on places to stay, eat, and shop in addition to information on attractions. Price, who is known for her book 100 Best Spas of the World, and Kath previously co-authored Fun With the Family Southern California.
Jerry Banks, a retired trial lawyer living in Rancho Mirage, has a new book out in his Barry O’Shea legal mystery series. The Second District (SterlingHouse Publisher Inc.) follows O’Shea as he tries to keep things civil when accusations of mob affiliations and vote tampering heat up an election.
