Horoscope - January 2014

Reinvent To Invent

In 2014, those born between August 1947 and 1956 will experience a generic transit, Saturn square Pluto. Those born between June 1939 and July 1947 have been settling Saturn-Pluto issues since October 2012. There is no bad or good, only an emphasis on your reactions to the obstacles. Gains seem to come the hard way, but you have an opportunity to reinvent your work to have far greater impact. For a personal reading, email me at sherrylnova@aim.com — By Sherryl Nova

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
A new sense of power arises when you pay close attention to the grumblings of Scorpio types. Play the prosecutor, and discern motives behind the rhetoric. If they are guilty until proven innocent, you will not waste time with those who would thwart you. Protect a dark secret until the light dissolves it. Remember, only truth sets us free.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Away from the madness and in the quiet, you will be blessed with healing insights. Distracted by drama, you may neglect that small voice within — the one with all the answers. Your tolerance for others’ opinions and need for understanding can put you on the right path. Avoid the cacophony, practice regular meditation, and realize you know what to do.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Networking is fierce, and you see you are the hub of a large wheel of influence. Intense one-on-ones with important associates will create new small groups that spin off projects. Sometimes your role is catalyst. Your contribution may end with the introduction. Be generous with your resources and new inroads open to you.

Aries (March 21-April 19)
You are edgy and not sure why. Alliances demand a closer look. Good fortune follows a decision to withdraw from a partnership. You will find that you can use the time and energy far more effectively, elsewhere. Take it slow when approaching a potentially important contact. React logically. Be cool.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Make some changes to your health habits and image. You will be required to be front and center now, and a fresh, strong impression goes a long way. Brush up on a relevant self-help concept. Accept an opportunity to learn from a master or two, as cosmic gifts abound in the realm of consciousness.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Retrograde Mars indicates a protracted yet civil battle of wills with a close associate. Clarify the differences in individual goals, and respect alternative avenues with no intention of following them. A mutual road is diverging, and eventually you will understand a process that is uniquely yours. Wanting what you cannot have is debilitating and wastes time.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
As old ties dissolve, there is a clean space, for a short time, when you can assess the potential of future alignments. There is more than one replacement for outmoded connections, and a reticence to continue where there is not a clear path is wise. You will soon realize the direction of your good fortune. Consider history a clue to the future. Nurture the worthy.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
Listen. Friends have much to share with you. If you indicate your willingness to grow, you will be blessed with astounding insight. A spiritual practice that nurtures you is your sharpest ammunition against the slings and arrows of the daily grind. Be grateful for the beauties of your home; use its healing vibrations.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
New revenue streams look promising, but all the data isn’t in. Consider a wider range of planning, and seek professional advice for a tricky budgeting matter. It’s the end of one material cycle and the beginning of a new one. Realign your values so that they support what you want. In divesting yourself of a costly entity, you will free up resources.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Mars in your sign through the end of July will demand that you focus on decisions. The balance of the scales sees both sides, but one choice will lead to amazing progress. Listen to your instincts. Avoid frivolous social events. You will be missed and admired in absentia.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Meaningful work is the priority, and there is solid progress when you can apply metaphysical concept to your ambitions. In striving for balance, you can define a new equilibrium that supports rapid growth. Eagles are obsessive — part of their charm — but temper your gung-ho attitude, and consider the input of others. You may be a rock, but not an island.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
A creative project lacks resources because it is in utero. Your sense of the big picture is accurate, but time is needed to develop the moving parts. A group situation supports growth, but there are discordant energies that should be identified and ignored. Old friends appear and remind you that previous triumphs can be topped by current synergies. Positive thoughts rule.
