Reprinted from the March 1979 issue of Palm Springs Life.

Yes, it really happened. The snowflakes started falling, and falling, and falling, and falling — and they stayed around long enough to make, among other things, Frosty the Snowman. The historic date: January 31, 1978. A total of one and a half inches fell in Palm Springs.
