Alyssa Vasquez, a 2012 FIDM graduate, debuted a vibrant collection of gowns and dresses in sheer, body-hugging fabrics embellished with a combination of pale pink, baby blue, and gold hand-applied flowers and studs. This cohesive collection displayed fantasy fashion that would be wearable for anyone who wanted to feel feminine, on trend, and sexy.
And Claudia Loa, a 2003 FIDM grad, introduced her prom 2013 collection — made for the “good girl” and the “bad girl.” The pinks, pale turquoise, and tulle were made for the prom queen who feels sweet, innocent, and flirty, while the black and gray creations were perfect for the bad girl who still wanted to look pretty but with a slightly devious vibe.
Also at the event, Arielle Metzler of Palm Desert was awarded a full scholarship to the International School of Beauty. The school’s founder, Mirela Marinescu, presented the award.
The school also invited more than 1,000 of its alumni to pick up a scholarship application to further their beauty credentials.
Fashion Week El Paseo™ continues in the Big White Tent at El Paseo and Larkspur Lane through March 23, 2013.
