Fabio Costa — Project Runway

Fabio Costa, the Brazilian native who was runner up in season 10 of Project Runway, brought a different vibe to Fashion Week El Paseo™, showcasing his self-described circus-inspired collection of off-sized clothing and unusual proportions.
Using color blocking and a “golden ratio” fitting technique over traditional patterns, his Bohemian look was slim and long and included sarong-style wraps over pants for men.
“Fabio remained true to his aesthetic, with his navy and white collection that was clean and functional, yet finely constructed and would make a statement next to some of the frillier fashions of today,” says Palm Springs Life Fashion Editor Susan Stein. “Fabio can make the simplest piece of fabric into an important piece of fashion.”
Project Runway helped Costa define his place in fashion. He impressed judges Heidi Klum and Nina Garcia and became known as a “conceptual designer.”
