For stroke victims, every minute counts; the sooner they receive proper care, the better their chances for recovery.
The same holds true with rehabilitation after a stroke or traumatic brain injury.
Access to long-term care can sometimes be difficult, but the Stroke Recovery Center in Palm Springs — which recently broke ground on the Clarice and Luhr Jensen Exercise Therapy Facility — is changing that.
Slated to open this fall at the current campus on East Alejo Road, the state-of-the-art building will offer 2,900 square feet of equipment and a supportive, social atmosphere.
The Stroke Recovery Center also offers rehabilitation as well as support for families and caregivers. Services include counseling, education, nutrition, and socialization. It currently serves 300 people a year, with 10,200 client visits annually. All therapy is free of charge.
