Palm Springs, CA 92262 760-778-5925 Picture Perfect High-Resolution Imaging from Head to ToeBy Erika Z. Byrd The only image more powerful than the images produced by Desert Regional Medical Center’s state-of-the-art imaging equipment is that of a healthy, smiling patient who has received the proper diagnosis and treatment due to the assistance of this amazing, high-resolution technology. Any diagnostic image a physician might need to help determine the most appropriate treatment for their patients can be accomplished between Desert Regional Medical Center’s two outpatient imaging centers: El Mirador Imaging Center, on the hospital’s main campus in Palm Springs, and La Quinta Imaging Center, on Washington Street just south of Highway 111 in La Quinta. “We offer the community full-service, head-to-toe diagnostic imaging with state-of-the-art equipment and a team of fellowship-trained radiologists to read the scans,” states Raymond Foster, Director of Imaging Services. “In addition to quality, we’re also very focused on patient convenience. From valet parking to same-day scheduling, we make it as comfortable and convenient for our patients as possible.” High-resolution imaging, same-day scheduling and same-day reporting back to referring physicians are important reasons the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps sends its personnel to Desert Regional Medical Center for their imaging needs. Among its advanced imaging technology, El Mirador Imaging Center offers 3 Tesla MRI, a dual modality 64-slice PET/CT Scanner, a 16-slice CT scanner and mammography. Complementing the services at El Mirador, the newly opened La Quinta Imaging Center offers a wide-bore 1.5 Tesla MRI to accommodate claustrophobic or bariatric patients, and a 64-slice CT scanner. Additionally, both centers offer digital X-ray and ultrasound. “The 3T MRI is the highest resolution available today,” states Henry Jones, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman and Medical Director of Desert Regional Medical Center’s Radiology Services. “With the 3 Tesla magnet, we get thinner slices and a smaller field of view that lets us see things like nerve roots, cartilage, and tiny tears. It’s great for looking at small structures and for diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries,” comments Dr. Jones. “The 3T MRI is also especially helpful in preoperative planning for neurosurgery.” EL MIRADOR IMAGING CENTER LA QUINTA IMAGING CENTER Scheduling: 1-760-778-5925 Additional Information |
