Palm Springs Air Museum has weathered the spiraling economy and increased admissions (up 13 percent year midyear), including topping its Memorial Day flower drop attendance record of 1,700 by almost another 300.

The museum has added an online gift shop (www.warbirdstore.org) and helicopter rides and scheduled several temporary exhibits: Hollywood in WWII (through Oct. 5), focusing on actors who defied their own studios by asking to go into combat; Plane Art, featuring drawings collected from a Delta Airlines terminal waiting room (Oct. 24-Jan. 25, 2010); Fighting Presidents (Feb. 13-May 15, 2010); and U.S. Navy Traveling Exhibit (May 22-Aug. 24, 2010).
