Editor's Letter October 2010

Too Thin, Too Tan, Too Rich?

Dear Editor:
Back in the late 1960s, a college roommate once lectured me, “There’s no such thing as too thin, too tan, or too rich.” Those first two assertions have long since been disproved by anorexia and melanoma. The photo feature on the Blixseth estate (“Grand Luxe,” August 2010) — particularly those interiors — has incontrovertibly disproved the third.

Dear Editor:

Your piece (“thank you very much, Scot Bruce,” August 2010) is fantastic! Last weekend at Disneyland, I signed about 50 copies of the magazine. After a couple of our die-hard fans found out about [the coverage], they drove to Palm Springs and bought a stack of copies from Ralphs and Albertsons. I could not be more grateful. Long live the King!

Correction
Our coverage of the American Cancer Society’s gala, Desert Spirit XXI (August 2010), misidentified Stephen Browning, the organization’s regional vice president, and Sally West Brooks, the former American Cancer Society national board chairwoman. Also, the Celebration of Life Award acknowledges a cancer survivor who continues to thrive and make significant contributions to the community. We apologize for the inaccuracies.
