Wish Upon the Stars? Doing Good Proves Worthier

Venus and Mars glow in the early evening sky, and their alignment in Scorpio makes us all more compulsive. Like the kid in Willy Wonka, we want it and we want it now. Highly effective when paired with a philanthropic cause, this combination can devastate us if we find ourselves wallowing in wanting what we cannot have. To avoid senseless drama, apply yourself to a worthy endeavor. And have no expectations but the peacefulness of being. For a personal reading, e-mail me at sherrylnova@aim.com.

Libra  (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
As Saturn settles in Libra, those of your sign have a renewed sense of purpose, along with a sense of free-floating anxiety. Your ship is in open sea, the perfect opportunity to make time; yet for speed, you must throw off ballast. What is valuable? The purpose or the baggage? Prune away nonessentials and travel light. Surrender attachments for the sake of growth. Self-reliance is the only choice.

Scorpio  (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Allies in the shadows do favors and pull strings, and the financial picture finally brightens. Spiritual strength has tempered over the last months, and others begin to see your vision. Speak softly and curb your tendency to have the last word. You may be discouraging important help with your steely determination. Include them in the concepts and the big picture. Focus on those who realize your intrinsic value.

Sagittarius  (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

You’re the lead in one of those movies where only the spiritual side of life matters. No matter how much you emphasize common sense and the bottom line, unseen forces lead you into force fields of angels and ghosts. At times, you may literally hear voices, especially those of loved ones who have past. Your subconscious is hyperactive, and a dream state is the norm. Take extra time off and pamper yourself. These times provide a glimpse of the future. Listen.

Capricorn  (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You are ending a cycle of “I know” and approaching “I use.” You will be given more responsibility, but not the corresponding authority. It’s a test that makes you strong if you are egoless. A lot can be accomplished if you never wonder if they know who you are. Pretenders jockey for position; apply metaphysical knowledge and give them no power. Clowns and jokers abound; ignore personalities and embrace the goal. Networking pays big.

Aquarius  (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Changes in the authority structure of work associates may require a few “do-overs” with current projects. The real power is hidden, and many have chosen a path that will disintegrate. Too much information is a way of life now. You will wish you didn’t know, and yet ... This ugly information is your strength, as you weed out the terrorists and passive aggressives. The war wages on, and there is soon resolution. Refrain from opinions to avoid entanglement.

Pisces  (Feb. 19-March 20)
The last months have been productive, but the real progress is deeply psychological. A creative venture that is the light in your eyes will soon birth to the world, and you will have approval and assistance beyond your wildest dreams. Look to public relations and promotions that encourage cultural growth. Master teachers are available and bring solid credits to the process. Know-it-all Sagittarius types should not annoy, but enlighten. Open up.

Aries  (March 21-April 19)
A month of gestation is sometimes distressing for the Ram, to whom forward motion is as essential as breathing. You have an unruly pile of flotsam, jetsam, trash, and jewels, requiring focus, sorting, and discernment. Stop the mindless movement and start making judgments. It will separate the men from the boys, and you will be able to continue unobstructed. Clear the roadway and move on.

Taurus  (April 20-May 20)
Servants rate a 6 and partners a 7. There is a fine line between them, and you will be tempted to promote some assistants or service providers to a level playing field — a bad idea. Some have outgrown their usefulness and think they can do your job. Others clamor for equality, yet the scales do not balance. It’s better to go it alone than give away too much out of a feeling of aloneness.
A strong alliance rises from a messy explosion. The worst is over.

Gemini  (May 21-June 20)

Many valuable lessons are evident now as you dig deep into your psyche for answers. You are faced with the same results, because you have not changed the modus operandi. Continue on this path and another crisis awaits. You have an opportunity to be your own shrink — to recognize habits that have sabotaged you in the past and modify your own behavior to achieve a more healthy result. The control you have is over your own reactions.

Cancer  (June 21-July 22)
Let the kid in you out to play. Choose an interesting playground and playmates. You are the natural leader when you back your concepts with a willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed. Often you will find that the extra effort is not necessary, that will power supplied the miracle. The Nordic Runes state, “More than doers, we are deciders.” Solid choices open doors and new pathways; the spirit of the will is the source. Lead with your heart.

Leo  (July 23-Aug. 22)
When I cried for a lost love, a wise mystic said to me, “You cannot want more for a man than he wants for himself.” That moment burned itself into my soul as I realized the depth of my projections upon that poor mere mortal. Look at the intensity of your desires for others. Do you plead, cajole, bribe, manipulate, or threaten another with “what’s good for them”? Even with love and the best of intentions, your wants are not theirs. Let go for serenity.

Virgo  (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Short trips invigorate you and breathe life into ideas long abandoned. Renewal is easy now if you are willing to refine communication with siblings, neighbors, and the community. The you that used to be is choking in the dust of your rearview mirror. Gary Larsen’s Far Side cartoon showed a giant eye with the words “objects in mirror are closer than they appear.” Don’t be scared, and realize there is so much more than you can see in the mirror.
