Resist Temptations for Later Reward: Progress

SHERRYL NOVA

Mars and Jupiter square off early this month; and we are tempted to break budgets, diets, and good intentions. A generic transit involves us all. Can we remain stoic for two weeks, resisting premature congratulations and celebration? Like the darkness before the dawn, our last nerve is shot from the long struggle. Midmonth, many of us will know that the dawn has come. The last two weeks will reward us with progress and, as a bonus, social improvement. LIBRA  (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Since July 2010, you have stood in the shadow of Saturn, the “hard way” planet. The influence is ambition, restriction, structure, and responsibility. It’s that time when even the hottest party is not fun, as you are constantly distracted by sobering thought. Relentless ambition becomes ruthless when a record number of obstacles convene to bum your trip. Maintain your humanity, take time to mentor worthy others, and rebuild the basic foundation.

SCORPIO  (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Have you ever dreamed you have an important engagement, but can’t seem to find the proper attire? Unconsciously, you may be projecting ahead to future endeavors without filling in the details. Sometimes it’s painful to see the big picture prematurely. The power is in the details. Slow down and be patient. Realize that your vision is truth, but you are the first to grasp it. Be tolerant of lugubrious associates. When they get it, they will be onboard.

SAGITTARIUS  (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Unencumber yourself. Create a light, flexible schedule, where you can make last-minute, unexpected changes. When there is a choice between a new experience and the status quo, choose the unknown. Be especially willing to break with long-held traditions. You are bored; and for the Centaur, that is dangerous. Remember you are armed with truth. Travel is beyond stimulating, all the way to lucrative. Go to school in the streets. Learn it all.

CAPRICORN  (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
A flight of fancy is doing continuous warfare with your common sense. A speculative situation seems absurd, but you return again and again to ponder it. There is a solid formula for success hidden under a lot of would, could, should, and what if. Relentless questioning will lead you to seek a formula and a system that supports new growth. Soon an initial investment will be made, and ground will be broken for the building of a dream. Do the math and win.

AQUARIUS  (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Your Venusian cycle is at its zenith; you better be out there. Others are inclined to share priceless resources with you now. All you have to do is initiate contact. You tend to be secular, but actually would be best served by more esoteric connections. Be generous with invitations all month. Acknowledge those who have contributed. A Girl Scout campfire song goes: “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.” Go for the gold.

PISCES  (Feb. 19-March 20)
There’s a party in your closet, and your drawers, and your files. The only real fun now is knowing you have streamlined your life. Live simply. Choose a minimalist tone for future months. Get rid of the superfluous. And that may be a lot of stuff. You are not accoutrements or Facebook “likes.” You are the winged messenger between the inspired and the powerful. You are the catalyst and the energy and impetus of new beginnings. Share it wisely.

ARIES  (March 21-April 19)
A few months ahead will call for an unexpected investment. Your subconscious has the answer, and success is dependent upon the strength and unity of serious alliances. For about 18 months, you have applied pressure to an alliance, forcing it to be more effective. If you are unemotional about outcome and focused on concept, you will temper certain partnerships and face the world ready for the win. There is power in compromise. Defer.

TAURUS  (April 20-May 20)
Those glimpses of material bliss were not hallucinations but foreshadowing. You have lost nothing, especially the race. So consider this a pit stop, where you are attended by assistants. It’s your mission to find a bottom line and then work backward, filling in line items. Slow is the lucky speed, as changes may well be irrevocable. Pondering is advisable. Know your worth, and do not deviate from your bottom line.

GEMINI  (May 21-June 20)
The Twins overlook cars, computers, communication, short trips, siblings, neighborhood, school, and community. These areas are active now, with a Leo influence. Follow your heart as it opens to situations that involve any of the aforementioned. Have a lighthearted, beneficent attitude, with enthusiasm for some and kind appreciation of all points of view. There is not too much on the plate. Take all under advisement and you remain free. Collect data.

CANCER  (June 21-July 22)
As fiscal matters ease, realize that this is the beginning of a far more effective cycle in terms of budget and lifestyle. You are able to take advantage of various special situations that will ease concerns. A new way (or two) to generate income will develop rapidly, and you will be working happily where you are effective and appreciated. Be productive.

LEO  (July 23-Aug. 22)
A hot Mars demands that you be the center of attention, heart of the matter. Take the position of gratitude for growth and opportunities, and no one can fault you. It’s time to lead, host with magnanimity, rain blessings on your faithful subjects, let bygones be bygones, and praise those worthy with special application of strengthening vibes. Your power is directly related to the health and happiness of your subjects. Survey the kingdom and know it’s good.

VIRGO  (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Watch out for childlike reactions now, as emotional biorhythms bottom out. Avoid heartbreak by vanquishing insecurity. In matters of win-lose, the war is within. When dispirited, energize by charity or volunteer work. When you focus on others, you stifle that inner critic. In laughter, there is peace. Find joy.
