The Episcopal Church of St. Paul In The Desert was named for St. Paul The Hermit who was one of the first of the Desert Fathers. The church itself, established its roots in about 1929 when Palm Springs was a small village.
Construction of the present church began early in 1942 and was recognized as a self-sustaining parish in 1946+ Since that time, there have been additions and expansion resulting in the present beautiful campus which includes the sanctuary, columbarium, parish hail, church offices, counseling office and facilities providing meeting places supporting the many ministries which are part of the church's outreach programs.
The congregation of some 500 is reflective of the diverse population of the Palm Springs area. Through its' involvement in the multi-faceted fabric of the community, the congregation strives to live its' mission statement of "serving Christ in others and by gathering to praise and thank God in worship. We are a welcoming, empowering, supportive community."
