Mission Statement: The ROAR Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 1983, its primary purpose is the operation and maintenance of the Shambala Preserve, an established wildlife sanctuary for more than 60 exotic animals, including African lions, Bengal and Siberian tigers, African and Asian leopards, servals, North American mountain lions, a Florida panther, a cheetah, and an African elephant. Many have suffered from mistreatment and neglect. With expert veterinary care, carefully planned diets, and constant attention from a devoted staff, they are brought back to live out their lives in dignity.
