Beyond family as the theme of Abby and Cary’s affair — Abby’s uncle married them, her mom was the matron of honor, and her brother played classical guitar as she walked down the aisle with her dad and grandfather — “rustic elegance” guided the look and feel of their outdoor event. In lieu of traditionally dark fall colors, the bride incorporated metallic golds and coppers and chose bright mango for the bridesmaids’ gowns. Abby knew the site was right as soon as she saw it, long before the engagement. Cary is PGA West’s director of club operations. “I hated the idea of wasting flowers, so we didn’t use them on every table. Instead we filled vases with water, rose petals, and floating candles.” Anticipating a chilly October evening, Abby thoughtfully filled wicker baskets with fall-colored shawls for guests to grab after dark.
