Spa Menu Focuses on Health, Wellness Beauty

The Well Spa at Miramonte Resort & Spa makes you feel at home

Randi Wood Health & Wellness

Walking into the The Well Spa at Miramonte Resort & Spa in Indian Wells felt as if I was walking into a friend’s beautiful home.

Intimate, cozy, and luxurious are just some of the words I could use to describe it.

The recent visit came as the spa is introducing a new menu steered toward focusing on health and wellness and the energy of one’s body, mind, and spirit.

This comes as the spa has created a partnership with Germaine de Capuccini, a skin-focused product line originating in Spain 50 years ago.

The Well Spa has been a long-standing favorite in the desert, receiving a number of accolades including the "No. 1 Resort Spa in North America" by vote in Conde Nast Traveler.

They have always focused on individual needs, but the new menu ramps those efforts up another degree.

With a great indoor, outdoor flow at The Well Spa, treatment rooms are located both outdoors in small bungalows as well as on the building’s second floor.

One of the services I experienced that night was the Candela Massage (Candle Massage). The service started with choosing a rock out of a satchel the therapist held. Each rock was adorned with a different word, and the rock chosen was said to be the “intention” for the service.

My rock was “Friendship.” The therapist explained to me that every time I felt my mind start to wander throughout the service to bring it back to the intention rock.
After getting comfortable, I was initiated into the service by being brushed with an Ostrich feather followed by a candle being poured onto me, which quickly dissolved into oil that was used throughout the massage. This particular massage was created to release tension and put one into a state of overall Zen.

After nearly falling asleep I was brought to my senses and quickly learned that I was done with my service….. which was disappointing since I could have easily never left! I would highly recommend this service if you are looking to experience a new take on your traditional massage.

The second service I experienced was the Diamante (Diamond Facial). The service began with a balancing ritual where stones were placed on the seven chakra points of my body. Trace elements of diamonds, hematite, smithsonite, paired with the Germaine de Capuccini  skin care line forged what was a truly luxurious facial.

Overall, The Well Spa was a fantastic experience. I cannot wait to go back, and it will now come to the top of my recommendation list.
