In a celebration of a growing local music scene, the second annual Tachevah: A Palm Springs Block Party debuted three Coachella Valley bands April 16 prior to two headliners who were once in their position.

The Yip Yops, a Coachella Valley band comprised of high school-aged members, opened with a no-holds bar performance followed by CIVX, which has been together just since January and was also making its first appearance in a festival setting. They announced during their performance that they had been picked by Goldenvoice to play at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for Weekend 2, April 18-20.

One11 made its first appearance and made it count, belting out a series of songs from their new album, which is available for free download from its website.

CLASSIXX, one of two headliner groups, used an on-stage TV screen to add to its visually-appealing set, and Fitz and The Tantrums closed out the show in front of the Spa Casino Resort in downtown Palm Springs.
