The last few years have seen quite a few new developments pop up throughout Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Desert. But some interesting and innovative projects are under construction down valley as well.

Hacienda Pointe is a gated community of 137 new, single-family houses by Express Homes, a D.R. Horton company, that is taking shape in North Indio.

“We recently completed our Mountain Estates community, which is located adjacent to Hacienda Pointe,” says Jonathan Smith, Horton’s South Coast/Inland Empire Division president. “We had great success [with it] and were excited for the opportunity to build another community in Indio [which] has great homebuyer demand within the Coachella Valley and is home to quality retail and recreation.”

Plan 2 also has three bedrooms and 2.5 baths but has a different layout than Plan 1 and is slightly larger at 1,995 square feet.

The first phase of homes should be completed next month and the entire community is estimated for completion by November 2018.

All of the homes are single-story and they range in size from approximately 1,980 to 2,815 square feet. “Our room counts vary from three to four bedrooms and offer flexible living spaces such as dens and entertainment rooms,” says Smith.

The largest floor plan features the builder’s trademark HomeShare layout, which has a fully functional second living area complete with a private main entrance, bedroom, full bath, kitchenette, laundry, living room, and interior access to the main home.

The layout for Plan 3 includes four bedrooms and two baths in 2,319 square feet.

“As the popularity and demand for multigenerational living has expanded over the past several years, it was our vision to capitalize on this trend and provide homebuyers with the space they need for their growing families,” says Smith.

There are five diverse floor plans with multiple exterior options in a cosmopolitan mix of Spanish, Mediterranean, and Southwestern architecture. “William Hezmalhalch Architects designed the homes,” notes Smith. “The exteriors were chosen based on the surrounding communities’ architectural styles.”

All of the floor plans will feature Mohawk vinyl flooring and carpet, Euro-style cabinetry with a decorative recessed door in white or Java finish, granite countertops, spacious islands, and Frigidaire white or black appliances.

Plan 4 has four bedrooms and three baths spread over 2,502 square feet.

Some of the other amenities include dual-glazed windows, large walk-in closets, marble countertops, and contemporary plumbing and bath fixtures.

The homes are priced from the low $300,000s.

Models are open at Hacienda Pointe from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Visit www.DRHorton.com/indio for more information, or call 760-342-2093.
