There are actually two sets of footprints.
One set belongs to the sixth annual Midsummer Dance Party set for 8 p.m. July 19 that benefits the Desert AIDS Project.
"I'm happy to say that our Mid Summer Dance Party has become a staple on the Palm Springs event calendar with more and more people coming to the desert during even its hottest days," said David Brinkman, CEO of Desert AIDS Project.
The second set comes from Billboard Circuit sensation DJ Kimberly S, who is back to headline a Palm Springs event after appearing at the White Party back in March.
Kimberly S possesses a "deep house music" that draws a following across generational lines.
"I am a lover of house music in its purest form," DJ Kimberly S said. "House and Dance integrates all different genres into its flow, and as a result, it enables people to feel an array of different emotions: joy, love, nostaglia, inhibition, passion…I want my sets to serve it all to my fans on the dance floor.
The hope is that the combination will not only create a memorable event, but raise the fundraising bar as well.
"Our co-chairs Kenny Jervis, Michael Crisp and Dennis Hernandez have left no doubt in my mind that this year is going to top last year's spectacular event that raised $34,000 for client services," Brinkman said.
Desert AIDS Project provides assistance for those living with HIV/AIDS, including fulfilling needs for food, medical and social services, advocacy, education and HIV/AIDS prevention awareness.
Attendees are being encouraged to wear neon attire, which will complement an artistic light show by Autumn Lights LA. Curated and produced by Lillie Muller, the mix of music and neon will create a unique multi-media experience. An exhibit will showcase artists presenting various art forms using the medium of light.
According to Dennis Hernandez, "We have many female artists volunteering their time for this cause, and we hope this expands our outreach to get more young people excited and more females involved in our efforts for Desert AIDS Project."
Hernandez said there will be prizes for best neon costumes and two VIP lounges to help the celebratory swim and dance party bring "further awareness to the Desert AIDS Project and say thank you to the Coachella Valley for their continuous support."
General admission tickets are $45 per person and include hors d'oeuvres and cocktails plus access to The Commune at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. VIP wristbands can be purchased for $75 per person for entry into two separate VIP lounges with catered appetizers, premium liquor and valet parking.
There is also an affordable Late Night Party Pass for $20 per person covering complimentary cocktails and The Commune access from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
