Palm Springs has a new moniker to promote.

Sexy.

Esquire magazine has released a list of the 8 Sexiest Cities in America, and Palm Springs is listed at No. 5. The No. 1 city is Las Vegas, followed by Miami, San Diego, Aspen (Colo.), Palm Springs, New Orleans, New York and Montreal. Apparently the last one was to include a Canadian destination.

Here's what they say about Palm Springs:

"Don’t let all the old people fool you: Palm Springs is supremely sexy. This desert oasis is more about Mad Men than The Golden Girls, and has a way of transporting visitors to another place and time. The city’s vintage appeal attracts hip LA-types looking for some good old fashioned R&R, and delivers surprising allure, eroticism, and excitement.

The height of retro-chic Palm Springs, The Parker is funky and fashionable. The entire place looks like it was taken straight from a 1960’s movie, and provides an ideal setting to channel your inner Gene Autry (heck, you can even stay in his former residence, if you want) and/or seduce like Sinatra. Rooms are simple and stylish, and there are villas for those seeking more privacy. There is plenty of outdoor space, too, including tennis courts and three pools — one of which that’s adults-only."

The magazine also promtes staying at Korakia Pensione.
